A secret to making money online

Make money on your own, don’t worry about getting funding. This is one of ton of “secrets to making online” but one of the best in my opinion. Make an application or have a service, you ask people to pay, if they like it they keep paying if they don’t they leave.

How to create a DBA for an LLC

Recently, I wanted to rebrand my agency DIAP Media to Stealth Media Agency. The idea came about after 7 months of leaving corporate America and using my LLC I created with LegalZoom.com back 2006. At the time, I created this LLC to use for a side business while working full time to buy domain names, cash park them, develop them or resell them. The name of my LLC is Digital Internet Advertising Properties. To learn more about that you can read my blog post. Long story short when I left I working for the man I quickly created diapmedia.com as a home base for an exclusive base of clients I would help with internet media and helping them increase their online brand equity. It was also the home base for all of the web properties I continue to develop. Over time, and being still young at the game with only 11 clients so far I decided to rebrand and instead of creating an entirely different LLC I used a DBA (doing business as) or trade name to easily create a new brand that better reflects my core business.

I know this varies by state but here is the process I used to learn how to create an LLC and save money verse using LegalZoom.com this time around.

Step 1: searched Google “how to create a DBA in Arizona”

Step 2: found on the Arizona Secretary of State website and learned I can mail $10.00 and fill out their form online and mail it in and wait a few weeks.

Step 3. decided to take the 15 minute drive down to the Arizona Secretary of State with the filled in form and found out for $45.00 they would create the DBA “Stealth Media Agency” on the spot vs. $10.00 to wait weeks.

Step 4. being impatient I forked out the $45.00 still about $65.00 less then LegalZoom in this case and Stealth Media Agency was born.

*Remember step 1 will vary based on the state you are in..

** if you don’t mind paying the premium LegalZoom.com will do it all for you after going through their online steps which is very easy too.

What’s your passion?

One of the first questions you should be asking yourself is “What do I love to do that I know a lot about and doesn’t feel like work?”. You have to think about this first and foremost to help figure out the path you want to take to gain the ability to leave a job you hate. We have such a short time to live our lives that you should take advantage of every day by loving what you do.

The internet itself as a platform and the tools and resources out there on the web have given people the ability to learn, share, and launch a business pretty much without a business plan or heavy investment costs. And if you can start writing unique content, doing videos, taking pictures or engage and connect with people that share your same passions you will create a community online or eyeballs that advertisers will want to reach. This is such a huge opportunity to get a website, host it, and start blogging or sharing what you know that can help other people.

But until you figure out your true passion and what you love to do it will really take a lot more patience then if you focus on things that you know and are extremely passionate about. If you are truly passionate, writing a post like I did at 1:59 AM will not feel like work. It will be something you want and love to do. So what’s your passion?

Get a website..

If you don’t have a website for your personal interests, personal brand or as a home base for your passion or business you are losing out already.

It costs 8 bucks to get a website or domain name and maybe $7 bucks a month or so a month to host it. This is the first step, stop thinking and over analyzing and jump in. You can buy a website domain at GoDaddy.com, 1and1.com, or my favorite site to buy domains Name.com.

We have decided on WooThemes new Canvas theme

One of the ways I have been able to create an internet media company and leave corporate america was having my own space on the web or a website. For beginners or non designers like myself there are two routes. Pay someone that you trust, like their work, and are passionate about design or use WordPress and free WordPress themes or Premium WordPress themes that are well worth it. I lean towards Premium WordPress themes because of the SEO value, options, and flexibility to manipulate the design.

Since 2003 I have been using BobbySmall.com for all design work but once WordPress hit with all the themes an great companies such as WooThemes I signed up for the premium monthly membership to access to top notch WordPress themes from their great designers. JobSucker.com is one of my sites that was actually built in combination of Woothemes new Canvas theme and with my designer Bobby Small.

This is a lesson to keep in mind as you go on your own whether it is with a blog, online business, or something else you are passionate about remember to focus on your strengths and outsource the rest. Don’t do things half ass or be something your not. Have I learned some design over the years after owning over thousand websites sure, am I great at that aspect of business not at all. I don’t kid myself or waste time on weaknesses.

Do what you are the absolute great at and love and stop killing yourself with tasks that suck or make your life miserable.

U.S. Job Satisfaction at Lowest Level in Two Decades

Americans of all ages and income brackets continue to grow increasingly unhappy at work-a long-term trend that should be a red flag to employers, according to a report released today by The Conference Board.

The report, based on a survey of 5,000 U.S. households conducted for The Conference Board by TNS, finds only 45 percent of those surveyed say they are satisfied with their jobs, down from 61.1 percent in 1987, the first year in which the survey was conducted.

“While one in 10 Americans is now unemployed, their working compatriots of all ages and incomes continue to grow increasingly unhappy,” says Lynn Franco, director of the Consumer Research Center of The Conference Board. “Through both economic boom and bust during the past two decades, our job satisfaction numbers have shown a consistent downward trend.”

Fewer Americans are satisfied with all aspects of their employment, and no age or income group is immune. In fact, the youngest cohort of employees (those currently under age 25) expresses the highest level of dissatisfaction ever recorded by the survey for that age group.

“The downward trend in job satisfaction could spell trouble for the overall engagement of U.S. employees and ultimately employee productivity,” adds Franco.
